My name is Al N. Combs, and I create photographic fusion art that explores transformation, connection, and wonder. Rather than documenting the world as it appears, I combine elements from different photographs into unified images where one thing gradually becomes another—trees become butterflies, landscapes become architecture, and familiar forms reveal hidden relationships.

 

My work is rooted in the belief that beauty, meaning, and curiosity matter. Through a process I call Convergence, I create images designed to slow the viewer down and invite closer observation. Many of these pieces are intended for spaces where people gather, heal, reflect, and work—places where art can do more than decorate a wall and instead contribute to a sense of calm, coherence, and possibility.

 

Based in West Virginia, I draw inspiration from the natural world, literature, faith, travel, and the countless patterns that connect seemingly unrelated things. My hope is that each piece offers viewers a brief moment of discovery—a reminder that there is often more beneath the surface than we first imagine.
